Fullerton leads four All-Conference performances with fourth place finish
Stonehill, which saw four runners post All-Northeast-10 Conference performances on the day, finished with 74 points to trail just 12th-ranked and East Region leaders University of Massachusetts Lowell, who captured its seventh NE-10 title, with 50 points. Southern Connecticut State University (103) and American International College (111) rounded out a fairly tight top five. American International sophomore Glarius Rop (Eldoret, Kenya) won his second-straight individual championship as he completed the eight-kilometer course in 24:12.2.
Senior Patrick Fullerton (Bradford, Mass./Haverhill) led Stonehill's All-Conference performers with a fourth-place finish to earn first team honors for the second-straight year with his time of 24:54.4, while classmate Daniel Pilz (Newington, Conn./Newington) earned second team honors for the third-straight year with his time of 25:17.4 to place ninth overall. Freshman Scott Waller (Andover, Mass./Andover) and junior Stephen Polito (Worcester, Mass./Doherty Memorial) both earned third team All-NE-10 accolades after 16th and 18th place finishes, respectively. Waller completed his first NE-10 championship run in 25:46.3, while Polito earned All-Conference honors for the third-straight year (2nd third team finish) with a time of 25:49.3.
Junior Daniel Fidler (Carlisle, Mass./Concord-Carlisle) placed 27th in 26:07.7, while freshman Paul Cina (Pembroke, Mass./Pembroke) finished 30th with his time of 26:17.1 to round out the Skyhawks scoring runners.
Stonehill returns to action in two weeks when it takes part in the NCAA Division II East Regional Championships at Franklin Park in Dorchester, Mass. The Skyhawks will be seeking their third regional title and qualify for the NCAA Championships for the eighth-straight year.
