2013: NE-10 Goalkeeper of the Week (9/16). Started 15 of Stonehill's 16 contests during his junior season. Made 84 saves and allowed 25 goals in 1388:50 of action, posting a 1.62 goals against average and a .771 save percentage. Recorded back-to-back shutouts for the second time in his career against Saint Rose (9/14) and Saint Anselm (9/17). Named Northeast-10 Goalkeeper of the Week for the first time in his career (9/16). Made 10+ saves on four occasions, and allowed one goal or fewer in eight contests. Stopped a season-high 12 shots in a 1-1 draw at American International College (10/19).
2012: Started all 10 games he played and posted a 3-5 record. Ranked sixth in the NE-10 with a 1.27 goals against average, after only squandering 12 goals on the year. Recorded a team-leading .793 save percentage, saving 46 of the 58 shots he saw. Registerd five or more saves in five games. Opened the year with five saves in and overtime tie against St. Thomas Aquinas (8/30). Earned his first win of the season (a 2-1 victory) against Concordia (9/1). Notched a career-high eight saves during a 1-0 overtime loss against New Haven. Recorded back-to-back shutouts and wins in the final two games of the season, a 1-0 win against St. Anselm and a 2-0 victory over UMass-Lowell.
2011: NE-10 All-Rookie Team. Tied for third in the NE-10 in wins with nine on the season. Played in and started in 16 games for the Skyhawks compiling a 9-7-0 overall record in his freshman campaign. Recorded three shutouts including a two-save shutout in his first-collegiate start against Concordia (N.Y.) in a 2-0 win on September 3. Also had shutouts against Saint Michael's (10/1) and Mercy College (10/12). Notched a season-high seven saves against Franklin Pierce University (9/24) in a 2-0 loss. Had five saves in a 3-1 win over Saint Anselm (10/25) and a 3-2 loss against UMass Lowell (10/28). Had at least three saves in 12 out of his 16 contests. NE-10 Rookie of the Week (9/19). NE-10 Weekly Honor Roll (10/24, 11/1). Colella Tabbed As NE-10 Rookie Of The Week. Colella Named To The NE-10 All-Rookie Team.
High School: 2011 graduate of St. John's Prep. Two-year varsity starter serving as captain senior year. Runner-up for Catholic Conference Most Valuable Player. Catholic Conference champions in 2010. Earned Salem News All-Star and Lynn Tribune All-Star honors. Also garnered Boston Globe All-State Team accolades along with Catholic Conference First-Team honors. Played for the SF Vikings club team.
Personal: Born July 20, 1993 in Wilmington, Mass. Son of Vincent and Nancy Colella of Wilmington, Mass. Has one brother, Justin (23) who played soccer at Saint Anselm College. Lists his favorite team as AC Milan and favorite player as Gianluigi Buffon.
