Bolster and White lead comeback victory for Stonehill over Merrimack

EASTON, Mass. (October 8, 2011) – The Stonehill College men's soccer team earned a 2-1 come-from-behind victory over Merrimack College on Saturday afternoon in Northeast-10 Conference (NE-10) action at Skyhawk Field.

Senior forward Robbie Sabadoz (Ottawa, Ont./Woodroffe) put the Warriors ahead early at 10:07 sniping a shot into the lower left corner of the net past Skyhawks goalkeeper Adam Colella (Wilmington, Mass./St. John's Prep.) for a 1-0 lead. After being held scoreless in the first half, Stonehill rebounded quickly in the second stanza as senior forward Mark Bolster (Narragansett, R.I./Narragansett) slipped behind Merrimack's defense on a corner kick and headed home Ross McWilliams' (Kingston, R.I./South Kingstown) cross into the top left corner of the net behind Warriors goalkeeper Evan Berube (Uxbridge, Mass./Northbridge) tying the score, 1-1, at the 46:25 mark.

Michael White (Lisbon, N.H./Lisbon Regional) completed the comeback for the Skyhawks at 70:34 corralling a loose ball in the box and firing into a wide open net for a 2-1 lead. Junior back Kristopher Brassard (Barre, Vt./Tilton School) created the scoring opportunity lofting a cross into the box that was punched away by Berube before White gathered the carom out of a scrum and finished for his fourth goal of the season.
