Skyhawks aim to get back to postseason play after a three-year hiatus
Wright finished third on the team last year with 22 points and seventh in the Conference
EASTON, Mass. (October 15, 2019) – The Stonehill College men's ice hockey program has been picked to finish seventh in the 2019-20 Northeast-10 Conference ice hockey preseason coaches' poll, the league announced Tuesday.
Last year's NE10 runner-up Saint Anselm College totaled 33 points and three first-place votes to lead the NE10 in the Preseason Poll this year, as defending champions Southern New Hampshire University fell one point behind the Hawks with 32 points and three first-place votes. Assumption College followed in third place with 26 points, while Saint Michael's College totaled 22 points and one first-place vote. Franklin Pierce University collected 14 points, as NE10 associate member Post University claimed sixth with 13 points, and Stonehill rounded out the schools with seven points and seventh place.
Last season, Stonehill totaled an overall record of 8-17-1 and a 3-11-1 Conference mark.
From the 2018-19 squad, the Skyhawks graduated six seniors, but will see a solid group of returners back on the ice, including senior Jack Hall who finished second on the team with 23 points and led the team with 19 assists. Senior Cameron Wright also returns as he finished third on the team with 22 points scoring 11 goals and tallying 11 assists. Hall also finished third in the Conference in points, while Wright finished seventh. Sophomore Charles Page will wear the Purple & White once again as he opened his collegiate career with nine goals and eight assists for 17 points.
