Lindquist and Dolan Compete at Zones



Lindquist seventh for novice flat and Dolan fourth in Cacchione Cup tune-up

SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. (April 10, 2013) – Two members of the Stonehill College equestrian team competed at the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) Zone 1 Championships, hosted by Mount Holyoke University, on Saturday.

Senior Samantha Lindquist (West Bridgewater, Mass./West Bridgewater), who placed second at the IHSA Zone 1, Region 4 Championships to qualify for zones, competed for the individual novice equitation on the flat. Classmate Emily Dolan (La Crosse, Wis./Aquinas), who has earned a spot at nationals next month as the Cacchione Cup representative for Zone 1 Region 4, competed in a tune-up for nationals.

Lindquist placed seventh for novice flat in her second-straight trip to the Zone Championships. The top two riders from each class advance to nationals. Dolan placed fourth among the Cacchione Cup riders from Zone 1, which comprises on equitation phases on both the fences and flat.

Dolan, the lone remaining Stonehill equestrian rider still competing, will ride in the Cacchione Cup competition that will determine the National Rider of the Year for Hunter Seat at the IHSA National Championships, hosted by the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex, in Harrisburg, Va., on Friday, May 3, and Saturday, May 4.
