EASTON, Mass. (Sept. 22, 2025) – Freshman
Havana De Roeck of the Stonehill field hockey team has been selected as the NEC Rookie of the Week, the conference office announced Tuesday afternoon.
A native of Brecht, Belgium, De Roeck scored a goal in the second half of Stonehill's 4-3 overtime victory over Rider in the NEC opener Sept. 19. De Roeck ger own rebound off a shot and put it back for a goal at the 41:57 mark, giving the Skyhawks a 3-2 lead at that point. De Roeck now has two goals during her rookie campaign, with the other tally coming at Maine Sept. 7.
In addition to De Roeck,
Siena De Roeck and
Emma McGrory were named NEC Prime Performers. A sophomore from Brecht Belgium, De Roeck tallied two goals in the win over Rider and leads the team with three goals this fall. McGrory, a sophomore from East Hampton, New York, scored the game-winning goal in overtime against the Broncs, giving the Skyhawks a sudden victory at 64:47.
Stonehill will begin a three-game homestand by welcoming Saint Francis for an NEC contest Friday, Sept. 26 at 3 p.m. The Pediatric Cancer Awareness Game will be held at W.B. Mason Stadium.
