Liza Gross

Stonehill's made its fifth appearance in the NCAA Division II Championships on May 12th in suffering an 11-8 setback to eventual national champion C.W. Post in the 2007 national semi-final round played at Spartan Field in Salem, Va.  Head Coach Michael Daly's Skyhawks were undermanned due to injury, but Stonehill used an early second half run to close to within a pair of goals at 8-6 with just over 20 minutes remaining in the contest only to see the Pioneers take advantage of a pair of turnovers to regain a four-goal lead in the final 10 minutes of play to advance and claim their crown.  Freshman Liza Gross (Loudonville, N.Y.) capped her solid rookie campaign with a hat trick in the setback for the Skyhawks, who also received a pair of goals from sophomore Michelle Kelly (Mendham, N.J.) as well as a goal and an assist from senior Tracey Hoffman (Nashua, N.H.).  Junior Amanda McGeachey (Saco, Maine) made five saves in goal for Stonehill, which finished the year at 18-2 overall, with both setbacks coming to C.W. Post by a total of five goals.  The Skyhawks will bring a 68-match Northeast-10 Conference winning streak into the 2008 season.

A Political Science major at Stonehill, Pardo posted a 3.39 grade point average and also earned a spot on the 2007 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District second team squad as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America.
