Junior All-America Kristin Darrell (West Islip, N.Y.)
scored five goals, including the game-winner with 16 seconds remaining
in the sudden death third overtime, to lift fourth-ranked Stonehill to
a 12-11 non-league victory over third-ranked and defending NCAA
national champion Adelphi last Saturday afternoon at Stiles Field in
Garden
City, N.Y. Darrell's heroics came just moments after fellow

Maine) saved a potential game-winning shot by the Panthers for Head
Coach Michael Daly's Skyhawks,
who overcame a four-goal second half deficit to post the dramatic
triumph. Sophomore Michelle
Kelly (Mendham, N.J.) added a hat trick and an assist in the win
for Stonehill, which also received a pair of goals and two assists off
the stick of senior Tracey Hoffman
(Nashua, N.H.). Kelly finished with 10 goals and seven assists
for 17 points in three Skyhawk victories on the week, including five
goals and two assists in a 19-5 win over St. Thomas Aquinas last
Thursday evening at Torne Valley Stadium in Suffern, N.Y., while
Hoffman collected eight goals and eight assists for 16 points,
including five goals and an assist in a 19-9 Northeast-10 Conference
triumph over Bryant last Tuesday afternoon at W.B. Mason Stadium,
Stonehill's 63rd straight league victory dating back to April
2000. McGeachey recorded a 7.95 goals against average and a .528
saves percentage in the three matches for the Skyhawks, who take an
11-0 overall mark and a 5-0 Northeast-10 slate into a conference outing
with Assumption on Thursday evening in Worcester, Mass. that begins at
7:00 p.m. EDT.
