Stonehill remained unbeaten in
Northeast-10 Conference play by battling Assumption to a 3-3 league
overtime tie on Saturday evening at the Buffone Rink in Worcester,
Mass. Sophomore Brendan O'Brien
(Braintree, Mass.) netted a goal and an assist in the draw for Head
Coach Scott Harlow's Skyhawks,
who also received a pair of assists from junior Matt Curran (Scarborough,
Maine). Senior Josh Green
(Mendon, Mass.) made 27 saves in the tie, as Stonehill remains one of
two unbeaten squads in league action and will host at least one
Northeast-10 playoff game later this month. Curran netted a pair
of goals for the Skyhawks in a 4-2 non-conference victory over Nichols
last Wednesday evening at the Bridgewater Ice Arena, as sophomore James Florentino (West Roxbury,
Mass.) chipped in with a career-high three assists for the winners, who
received a 25-save effort from Green between the pipes.
Stonehill, which stands at 6-10-1 overall and 2-0-1 in Northeast-10
play, begins a three-game homestand on Tuesday evening when the
Skyhawks host Framingham State in an ECAC Northeast match-up at the
Bridgewater Ice Arena beginning at 7:10 p.m. EST.
