One of the most successful weekends in
Stonehill history was capped on Saturday afternoon when junior Keith Gill (Brockton, Mass.) ran the
fastest mile time nationally in Division II to date at the Boston
University Terrier Invitational, as he automatically qualified for the
upcoming NCAA Division II Indoor National Championships to be hosted by
Stonehill in early March at the Reggie Lewis Center. Gill
shattered the school record with a time of 4:07.22 for Head Coach Karen Boen's Skyhawks, eclipsing the
previous best time in the event nationally by nearly three full seconds
in the process and earning the nod as Northeast-10 Track Athlete of the
Week. Sophomore Torrey Price
(Sleepy Hollow, N.Y.) provisionally qualified for the NCAA
championships by shattering his own school record in winning the 55
meters with a time of 6.38 at the Boston Indoor Games on Friday
evening, while fellow sophomore Tyler
Guilmette (East Longmeadow, Mass.) also set new school marks in
the long jump (22 feet, 1/2 inch) and triple jump (42 feet, 7 inches)
as well at the Boston Indoor Games. Stonehill will be in action
on Saturday morning as the Skyhawks head to Medford, Mass. to compete
in the Tufts Invitational that begins at 10:00 a.m. EST.

Stonehill enjoyed a solid
weekend of competition at both the Boston Indoor Games on Friday
evening at the Reggie Lewis Center and at the Boston University Terrier
Invitational at the Case Center on Saturday morning. Freshman Bridget DeVincent (Attleboro, Mass.)
earned the nod as the Northeast-10 Freshman Track Athlete of the Week
after placing third in the 3,000 meters for Head Coach Karen Boen's Skyhawks, as her time
of 10:15.22 was surpassed only by a pair of Boston College
runners. Senior Dana DeIngenis
(Cranston, R.I.) placed 14th overall in the mile with a time of 5:06.30
(best among Division II entrants), while fellow senior Kelly Chaisson (Walpole, Mass.) was
20th overall in the 5,000 meters (second among Division II competitors)
with a time of 17:50.22. Stonehill returns to action on Saturday
morning when the Skyhawks head to Medford, Mass. to compete in the

Woods

Chris
Woods, who has served for the past three seasons as Head
Football Coach at Stonehill College, has resigned his position,
effective immediately, to become the linebackers coach at special teams
coordinator at Harvard University. Woods, a native of Milton,
Mass., arrived in Easton in December 2003 after serving for three
seasons as the Head Football Coach at Mansfield (Pa.) University.
After guiding the Skyhawks to a pair of wins in his inaugural campaign
in 2004, Woods led Stonehill to its highest victory mark in four
seasons in 2005, as the Skyhawks finished sixth in Northeast-10
Conference play with league wins over Assumption, Pace, Saint Anselm
and Merrimack, and during his tenure he coached six all-conference
performers. Stonehill Director of Athletics Paula J. Sullivan announced that
current offensive coordinator Brad Paulson will serve as interim head
coach until Woods's successor is in place, and she stated that a search
for the next Skyhawk football mentor will "begin immediately."
