November 22, 1994 - Senior Michelle Doonan recorded a single-game high with 39 points in a match up with the UMass-Lowell women's basketball team.  Sole possession of the record did not last long, however.  Junior Sue Patchett matched Doonan's 39 a season later.


Regional Repeat Is Sweet For Skyhawks

The Bronx, N.Y. - For the seventh time in eight years and the second year in a row, the Stonehill women's cross country team claimed the NCAA Northeast Division II Regional Championship, this time with a powerful display at historic Van Cortland Park on Saturday morning.

The Skyhawks finished with 45 team points and will now advance to the Division II Cross Country National Championships on Saturday, November 17 in Joplin, Mo.

Stonehill, who placed all five runners in the top 20, were paced by junior Kristina Coriaty's (Brockton, Mass.) third place finish. Kelly O'Toole (Nashua, N.H.) crossed the line in fifth place and was the top freshman performer, with a time of 23:09 on the 3.73 mile course.

Two weeks after edging out Northeast-10 rival UMass-Lowell at the conference championships on their home course, the Skyhawks and River Hawks finished 1-2 again.

Senior Leslie Clunie (Newburyport, Mass.), who finished in fifteenth place a season ago, was the third Skyhawk to finish, wrapping up the course in sixth place with a time of 23:12.

Juniors Jenny Gardynski (Everett, Mass.) and Jackie Oates (South Easton, Mass.) finished in 14th and 17th place respectively, with times of 24:04 and 24:12.

For their efforts, Coriaty, O'Toole, Clunie and Gardynski all earn All-Region honors.

Bryant's Nicole Radzik was the event's overall winner with a time of 22:03. Following Stonehill and UMass-Lowell were Bentley, Adelphi and Southern Connecticut.
