Pleasantville, N.Y. - The Skyhawks saw their season come to an end in straight sets at the hands of the first seed New Haven Chargers in the semifinals of the Northeast-10 Tournament on Saturday afternoon at Pace University.

Stonehill came out of the game aggressive and was even able to take the lead at 7-5. However, the Chargers responded and drew even at eight a piece.  From there New Haven took control, not letting the Skyhawks within two the rest of the way as they won the set 25-15.

In the second, Stonehill once again came out strong, leading 7-6 early. The Chargers responded, going on a 9-2 run to put the set out of reach and finishing it off with a 25-19 second set victory.

New Haven wouldn't be denied the sweep as they stifled another early Skyhawk lead and took the final set 25-15.

The Chargers were led by NE-10 player of the year Rhe-Ann Niles who had a .875 attack percentage to go along with eight kills.  Teammate and NE-10 Setter of the Year Yael Rosner matched Niles with eight kills and had 33 assists.

Freshman Anna Barczak (Ridgefield, Conn.) had another strong match for the Skyhawks, hitting .294 with eight kills and two service aces.  Sophomore Erin Johnson (Centerville, Mass.) also hit well for Stonehill, recording a team high .385 attack percentage, six kills and two blocks.

Sophomore Setter Andrea Wirth (Mesa, Ariz.) was named to the All-Tournament team for performance over the weekend as she averaged 9.33 assists per set and 2.67 digs per set in the Skyhawks two matches.

The Skyhawks finish their season 21-11, for the school's best record since 1997.  Their three set victory over AIC on Friday also marked the program's fourth win in NE-10 tournament play.
