Skyhawks Buzz By Yellow Jackets, 3-1

Springfield, Mass. - Behind 17 kills from junior Katherine Masson (Acushnet, Mass.), Stonehill picked up their second win of the season and the first Northeast-10 Conference victory of the year with a 3-1 win over host American International College.

After winning the first game with relative ease, 30-18, the second game was a hard fought back and forth affair that saw the Skyhawks take a 35-33 decision for a 2-0 lead. The Yellow Jackets responded, taking game three 30-28, before dropping the fourth game, 30-23.

Freshman Andrea Wirth (Mesa, Ariz.) had 40 assists for the victors, who improved to 2-9 on the season.

The Skyhawks return to action on Saturday when they host a tri-match with Assumption and St. Anselm's. The first match is scheduled for 11:00 a.m.
