Gardynski Qualifies for Nationals In Steeplechase
Results
Amherst, Mass. - Coming into the 3000 meter steeplechase,
senior captain Jenny Gardynski (Everett, Mass.)
was ranked 15th in the event. The senior ended up dropping 30
seconds and shattering her own school record in the process at the
New England Championships on Saturday in a field filled with
Division I, II and III teams.
Gardynski finished fifth in the event and automatically qualified
for Nationals with her time of 10:53.24, earning All-New England
honors in the process. Also performing well for theSkyhawks on
Saturday was the 4x800 relay team which took eighth in the event.
The relay, made up of freshman Jill Alves (Whitman, Mass.), sophomores Lindsey Booth (Franklin, Mass.) and Hilary Curtis (Scarborough, Maine) and senior captain Kristina Coriaty (Brockton, Mass.) finished in time of 9:26.14.
