February 18, 2006 - Dana Burbank was one of three Skyhawks to finish second in their respective events in the Northeast-10 Conference Championships.  In the process, Burbank tied a school record by high jumping 6'6".  Burbank's mark tied Matt Carroll's 2002 effort at the conference championships.

Altamonte Springs, Fla. - The Stonehill women's tennis team saw their record breaking season come to an end on Wednesday evening as they were defeated 5-0 by the 12th ranked Vulcans of California (Pa.) in the round of 16 in the NCAA Tournament. 

The Skyhawks finish their season with a school record 22-4 record after clinching their first ever trip to the NCAA round of 16, while the Vulcans move to 23-2. 

In doubles play the No. 1 doubles duo of Lindsey Herchel (Hampden, Mass.) and Amy Toegemann (Narragansett, R.I.) lost 8-1, as did the No. 3 team of freshmen Sarah Hickey (Lee, Mass.) and Haley McNeel (Brielle, N.J.).  

At No. 2 doubles junior Samantha Dircks (Stony Brook, N.Y.) and freshman Leah White (East Walpole, Mass.) fell 8-4. 

In singles action, White lost 6-1, 6-0 and sophomore Caitlin Ryan (Medfield, Mass.) fell 6-0, 6-0 for the 5-0 defeat.   

Though the NE-10 Champion Skyhawks season is over they don't lose any players to graduation and have only one junior in Dircks as they will look to defend their crown next season.
