April 27, 1986 - Sophomores Naren Dhamodharen and David Schreiner claimed the Men's tennis first doubles crown at the Northeast-8 Championship.  The Stonehill pair defeated Springfield 1-6, 6-2, 6-2.  The Stonehill Men's Tennis team finished the season 5-9 but earned fourth place at the tournament.


Stonehill Blanks Franklin Pierce, 9-0

Skyhawks notch 14th-straight NE-10 regular season win

EASTON, Mass. (September 30, 2009) - Stonehill College didn't drop a set in claiming a 9-0 victory over Franklin Pierce University in Northeast-10 Conference women's tennis action at Charles Watt Tennis Courts tonight.

Sophomores Amy Toegemann (Narragansett, R.I./The Lincoln School) and Leah White (Walpole, Mass./Bishop Feehan) led the double-winners for Stonehill who extended its regular season NE-10 winning streak to 14 matches with the victory. Toegemann posted a 6-2, 6-1 victory at No. 1 singles after teaming up with senior Samantha Dircks (Stony Brook, N.Y./Ward Melville) for an 8-1 decision at No. 1 doubles. White rolled to a 6-1, 6-1 victory at No. 2 singles after combining with sophomore Bacall Brooks (York, Maine/ Saint Thomas Aquinas) for an 8-1 victory at No. 2 doubles.

Freshmen Jacqueline Harrow (North Reading, Mass./North Reading) and Chelsea Haedrich (Islip, N.Y./Islip) both also notched a pair of wins on the night. The duo helped the Skyhawks sweep doubles with an 8-3 win at No. 3, then Harrow didn't drop a game in notching a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 4 singles while Haedrich won 6-0, 6-1 at No. 5.

Stonehill (2-0, 2-0 NE-10) is back in action on Friday when it visits the University of New Haven for a dual match at 3 p.m. Franklin Pierce (0-1, 0-1 NE-10) hosts Saint Michael's College on Saturday at 2 p.m.
