December 2, 1994 - Stonehill Men's Basketball defeated Wheaton and UMass-Dartmouth at the Holiday Inn Classic.  Senior Chris Butler finished with 22 points and 12 boards on his way to being named Tournament Most Valuable Player.  Butler gave Stonehill the win over UMass-Dartmouth sinking a basket with 2.1 seconds remaining.


Women Open Season with 9-0 Sweep

Kissimmee, Fla. - The Stonehill College Women's Tennis team (1-0, 0-0 NE-10) claimed their first victory of the year with an impressive 9-0 sweep of St. Francis College (4-10, 3-2 NAIA) of Illinois.  The match marked the start of six games in six days for the Skyhawks, who will remain in Florida through March 6th

All six Skyhawks won their singles events in straight sets, including freshman Lindsey Herchel (Hampden, Mass./Minnechaug Regional) who defeated Corinne Lutz in third singles, 6-0, 6-0.

Herchel and senior Elise Clark (Spring Lake, N.J./Saint Rose) teamed up to win second singles as well, 8-0 over Lutz and teammate Carla Braun. 

The Skyhawks look to keep it rolling against Aquinas College of Michigan tomorrow.
