Granato Still Undefeated in NE-10

Easton, Mass. - The Stonehill College Women's tennis team
(12-4, 8-2 Northeast-10 Conference) bounced back from their 6-3
loss to Bryant University with an impressive 7-2 over the Saint
Anselm Hawks (5-6, 5-6 Northeast-10) on Sunday. The win is
the women's eighth in-Conference victory and sixth in their last
seven contests.
Daniella Granato (Concord, Mass./Concord-Carlisle)
headlined the event, improving her individual singles record to a
team-best 14-2. Her 6-2, 6-1 win over Saint Anselm's Virginia
Dalrymple increased her unbeaten streak to 11 straight.
Granato, a senior, stands a perfect 10-0 in Conference
action.
Elise Clark (Spring Lake, N.J./Saint Rose) and
Lindsey Herchel (Hampden, Mass./Minnechaug)
claimed their ninth straight win at second singles. The pair
is 11-4 overall, 9-0 in NE-10 doubles action. Clark, a
senior, also earned a win at fourth singles, 6-2, 7-5 over the
Hawks' Jessie Brennan.
Sophomore Samantha Dircks (Stony Brook, N.Y./Ward
Melville) completed a 2-0 day for the Skyhawks, winning at third
singles and first doubles. Allison Bleankey
(Lewiston, Maine/Lewistown) and Emily Broderick
(Middlebury, Conn./Pomperaug) claimed two Stonehill's seven wins at
fifth and sixth singles, each winning in straight sets.
The women travel to Franklin Pierce Tuesday for another
Northeast-10 Conference match up. The contest is scheduled
for 3:30 p.m.
