Results

Easton, Mass. - Senior Daniella Granato (Concord, Mass./Concord-Carlisle) extended her undefeated streak to 13 straight with a 6-1, 6-4 win over Dowling's senior Ashley Horishny in the schools' dual Thursday evening.  The 7-2 victory for the Stonehill Skyhawks (14-4, 9-2 Northeast-10 Conference) is their third straight and eight in last nine contests.  The Dowling College Golden Lions (10-9, 4-3 ECC) scored victories at third singles and third doubles in defeat.

Granato continued her hot streak with another 2-0 day for the Purple and White.  The senior captain teamed with sophomore Samantha Dircks (Stony Brook, N.Y./Ward Melville) for one of Stonehill's first wins of the afternoon, a 9-7 victory at first doubles over Cristina Hoffman and Diane Kobasiuk.  From there, Granato improved her team-best individual record to 16-2.  With only one week remaining, Saint Michael's College is the one obstacle between Granato and a perfect 13-0 Conference record.

Elise Clark (Spring Lake, N.J./Saint Anthony's) and Lindsey Herchel (Hampden, Mass./Minnechaug) continued their winning ways in doubles and singles competition.  The duo won their 11th consecutive match, 8-2 over Horishny and junior Jennifer Tripp.  Clark and Hercel each won in straight sets at fourth and first singles, as well.

Senior Allison Bleakney (Lewistown, Maine./Lewistown) won her third straight at fifth singles (6-1, 6-0).  Bleakney is 8-2 in her last ten matches, she is 15-3 overall and 10-2 in the Northeast-10 Conference.

The women return to action tomorrow when they play host to undefeated Suffolk University.  The match is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. on the Stonehill Courts.
