January 17, 1998 - Stonehill Men's Basketball's 10-game winning streak was snapped by Bentley College in an 83-79 loss.  In defeat however, Shaun Fein claimed the College's record after connecting on nine 3-pointers. 


Herchel Wins Two in 6-3 Loss to Bryant

Freshman Lindsey Herchel (Hampden, Mass./Minnechaug) accounted for two of Stonehill's three wins in the Skyhawks' 6-3 loss to Bryant University (14-2, 10-0 Northeast-10 Conference).  The loss snaps the women's tennis team's (11-4, 7-2 Northeast-10 Conference) five game winning streak, dating back to their last Conference loss, 6-3 to Bentley College.

Herchel rebounded from three consecutive losses at first singles to defeat Bryant's Emma Czarnecki in straight sets, 6-4, 6-2.  The win improves Herchel's personal record to 8-7.  She is 4-5 in Conference duals.

Herchel teamed with senior Elise Clark (Spring Lake, N.J./Saint Rose) for the duo's eighth straight win at second doubles.  They defeated Bryant's Michelle Burke and Valeria Couto Cuervo, 9-7.

Daniella Granato (Concord, Mass./Concord-Carlisle) remains perfect in Northeast-10 Conference action with a 6-4, 4-6, 10-7 win over Chelsea Downing.  Granato is riding a 10-game unbeaten streak at second singles.  Her overall record is 13-2, however, she is 9-0 against Northeast-10 Conference opponents.

The women are back to work tomorrow when they host Saint Anselm.  The match is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
