Three Skyhawks Rookies Named Northeast-10 All-Conference

South Easton, Mass. -
The Northeast-10 Conference announced their 2008 Division II Women's Tennis All-Conference and Major honors on Sunday.  All six of the Stonehill College's (16-6, 9-3 Northeast-10 Conference) regular starters received All-Conference honors in either singles or doubles competition, including 18-game winner Daniella Granato (Concord, Mass./Concord-Carlisle).

Granato, a senior captain, earned a spot on the 2008 Northeast-10 All-Conference First Team after completing an undefeated 12-0 Conference schedule at the Skyhawks' No. 2 spot.  Granato finished the season on a 15-game winning streak, dating back to Stonehill's March 5th contest with Rollins.

Stonehill's Elise Clark (Spring Lake, N.J./Saint Rose) claimed Second Team All-Conference honors for her 16-2 mark at fourth singles.  Clark, who posted a 9-1 Conference record, finished tied for the second-most wins on Skyhawks' squad.  She had won nine of her last ten headed into the Semifinals match up against Bryant.

Both Granato and Clark received recognition in doubles competition, as well.  Granato, who teamed with sophomore Samantha Dircks (Stony Brook, N.Y./Ward Melville), led the way, earning Second Team No. 1 Doubles All-Conference honors.  Clark and freshman Lindsey Herchel (Hampden, Mass./Minnechaug) were named First Team No. 2 Doubles All-Conference.  The pairs combined for a 20-3 Conference record.

Rounding out the Skyhawks' accolades are freshman Emily Broderick (Middlebury, Conn./Pomerpaug) and Caitlin Ryan (Medfield, Mass./Medfield).  The rookie duo claimed Third Team No. 3 Doubles All-Conference honors after an 11-8 season, 7-5 against Northeast-10 Conference Opponents.
