October 17, 1998 - Running back Tyrone Jefferson tied a school record with four rushing touchdowns in Stonehill's 43-18 victory over Assumption College.  Jefferson's four scores matched a nine-year-old record held by Michael Strachan, who reached the end zone four times against Merrimack College.

Stonehill seniors Daniella Granato (Concord, Mass./Concord-Carlisle), Elise Clark (Spring Lake, N.J./St. Rose) and Allison Bleankey (Lewiston, Maine/Lewiston) each earned a victory in the women's 8-1 win over American International College (1-5, 1-5 Northeast-10 Conference).  The Stonehill College Women's Tennis team (9-3, 5-1 Northeast-10 Conference) has defeated three straight NE-10 foes to improve their conference record to 5-1.

Granato, Clark and Bleankney each made quick work of their opponents, winning in straight sets.  Granato's 6-0, 6-1 victory over the Sara Strzempek brought her undefeated streak to a team-best seven matches.  The three seniors, Granato, Clark, and Bleankey, are an impressive 29-5 overall in singles competition.

Freshmen Catie Ryan (Medfield, Mass./Medfield) and Emily Broderick (Middlebury, Conn./Pomerpaug) each won in straight sets in fifth and sixth singles, respectfully.  The two later teamed up for their eighth win at third doubles.  The duo own a team-best 8-3 mark in doubles competition, while Ryan is one of two Skyhawks remaining with a perfect 6-0 Conference record.

Freshman Lindsey Herchel (Hampden, Mass./Minnechaug) was able to rebound from her first singles defeat to earn a win with Clark at second doubles.  Granato and teammate Samantha Dircks (Stony Brook, N.Y./Ward Melville) earned a victory at first doubles, 8-4, over Sarah Pfefferkorn and Strzempek.

The women return to the court Tuesday when they travel to Southern N.H. for seventh straight conference game.  The match is scheduled for 3:30 PM.
