EASTON, Mass.-- The Stonehill women's tennis team picked up its fourth win in five league matches on Tuesday afternoon by posting an 8-1 Northeast-10 Conference dual-match triumph over Franklin Pierce on the Stonehill Courts.
Juniors Elise Clark (Spring Lake, N.J.) and Allison Bleakney (Lewiston, Maine), along with freshmen Lauren Rowinski (Franklin Lakes, N.J.), Samantha Dircks (Stony Brook, N.Y.) and Jessica Schaaf (Old Lyme, Conn.) were all straight set winners in singles play for the host Skyhawks (7-3, 4-1 Northeast-10), who have won 18 of their last 19 conference contests dating back to April 2005. Dircks teamed up with junior Daniella Granato (Concord, Mass.) for an 8-1 triumph at number one doubles for Stonehill, while the duos of Clark and Rowinski as well as Bleakney and Schaaf were also victorious at the number two and three doubles spots, respectively, by 8-1 and 8-0 finals.
Junior CoCoMinott (Pennsburg, Pa.) picked up the lone point of the day for the visiting Ravens (0-3, 0-3 Northeast-10) with a three-set victory over Granato at number one singles.
Stonehill hosts Saint Michael's in a Northeast-10 dual-match on Saturday afternoon on the Stonehill Courts beginning at 1:00 p.m., while Franklin Pierce hosts Assumption in a Northeast-10 outing on Sunday morning in Rindge, N.H. at 11:00 a.m.
