WORCESTER, Mass.-- Junior Elise Clark (Spring Lake, N.J.) and freshmen Lauren Rowinski (Franklin Lakes, N.J.) and Samantha Dircks (Stony Brook, N.Y.) each posted wins in singles and doubles play in leading Stonehill to a 6-3 Northeast-10 Conference women's tennis dual-match victory over Assumption Tuesday afternoon on the Plourde Courts.
Clark, Rowinski, Dircks and junior Allison Bleakney (Lewiston, Maine) each posted straight-set singles triumphs on the day for the visiting Skyhawks (9-5, 6-3 Northeast-10), as Clark and Rowinski teamed up for an 8-5 win at number two doubles. Dircks and junior Daniella Granato (Concord, Mass.) combined for the other point of the contest for Stonehill with an 8-5 triumph at the number one doubles spot.
Senior Shannon Steele (Plainville, Mass.) was a winner in both singles and doubles play in the setback for the host Greyhounds (3-7, 3-7 Northeast-10), as she posted a straight set win at number six singles and teamed up with sophomore Courtney Caron (Cohasset, Mass.) for an 8-2 triumph at number three doubles.
Stonehill hosts Southern New Hampshire in a Northeast-10 dual-match on Thursday afternoon at the Ames Sports Complex beginning at 3:00 p.m., while Assumption heads to Pleasantville, N.Y. on Wednesday afternoon to take on Pace in a Northeast-10 outing that also begins at 3:00 p.m.
