WALTHAM, Mass.-- Sophomores Elise Clark (Spring Lake, N.J.) and Daniella Granato (Concord, Mass.) were both winners in singles and doubles play in lifting the Stonehill women's tennis team to its seventh straight victory with a 6-3 Northeast-10 Conference dual-match triumph over Bentley Wednesday afternoon on the Bentley Courts.
Clark, Granato and seniors Ashley Todd (Weymouth, Mass.) and Anna Walsh (Dennis, Mass.) posted singles wins on the day for the visiting Skyhawks (9-1, 6-0 Northeast-10), who remained tied for the top spot in the league standings with Bryant, as Todd won her match at the number two singles spot in three sets. Granato and senior Jennifer Arcabascio (Salem, N.H.) combined for an 8-3 win at number one doubles for Stonehill, which also received an 8-5 triumph at the number three doubles position from Clark and sophomore Allison Bleakney (Lewiston, Maine).
Freshman Julia Khomitch (Newton, Mass.) was a winner in both singles and doubles play in the setback for the host Falcons (5-9, 4-1 Northeast-10), as she teamed with sophomore Amanda Barbuto (Bedminster, N.J.) for an 8-4 win at number two doubles after posting a straight set victory at the number one singles spot. Sophomore Kelly Nugent (Lynnfield, Mass.) also posted a straight set win at number six singles for Bentley.
Stonehill travels to Manchester, N.H. on Saturday afternoon to take on Southern New Hampshire in a Northeast-10 dual-match that begins at Noon, while Bentley hosts Wesleyan in a non-league dual-match on Friday afternoon on the Bentley Courts at 3:30.
