EASTON, Mass.-- The Stonehill women?s tennis team picked up its fourth straight victory on Saturday afternoon, as the Chieftains remained unbeaten in four matches this season by posting a 9-0 Northeast-10 Conference dual-match triumph over Southern New Hampshire at the Ames Sports Complex.
Seniors Karen McAuley (Raynham, Mass.) and Susan Noblin (Raynham, Mass.), juniors Ashley Todd (Weymouth, Mass.) and Jennifer Arcabascio (Salem, N.H.) along with freshman Daniella Granato (Concord, Mass.) were winners in both singles and doubles play for the host Chieftains (4-0, 4-0 Northeast-10), as Stonehill won all six of its singles contests in straight sets. Junior Anna Walsh (Dennis, Mass.) chipped in with a victory at the number four singles spot for the hosts, while freshman Elise Clark (Spring Lake, N.J.) teamed up with Noblin for an 8-1 triumph at number three doubles for the Chieftains.
The visiting Penmen (3-2, 2-2 Northeast-10) saw their three-match winning streak come to an end with the setback.
Stonehill hosts Saint Michael?s in a key Northeast-10 dual-match on Sunday afternoon at the Ames Sports Complex beginning at 1:00 p.m., while Southern New Hampshire will host Bryant in a Northeast-10 dual-match on Tuesday afternoon in Manchester, N.H. beginning at 4:00 p.m.
