WORCESTER, Mass.-- The Stonehill women?s tennis team claimed its 10th victory of the season Wednesday afternoon after posting a 9-0 Northeast-10 Conference dual-match triumph over Assumption at the Plourde Center.
Seniors Karen McAuley (Raynham, Mass.) and Susan Noblin (Raynham, Mass.), juniors Ashley Todd (Weymouth, Mass.) and Jennifer Arcabascio (Salem, N.H.) along with freshman Daniella Granato (Concord, Mass.) were each victorious in both singles and doubles action for the visiting Chieftains (10-1, 10-1 Northeast-10), as McAuley and Noblin each won their respective singles matches in three sets. Junior Anna Walsh (Dennis, Mass.) chipped in with a win at the number four singles spot for Stonehill, while Noblin and freshman Elise Clark (Spring Lake, N.J.) combined for a 9-7 triumph at the number three doubles position for the visitors.
The host Greyhounds fall to 5-5 both overall and in Northeast-10 play with the setback.
Stonehill, which has posted sweeps in each of its last five victories dating back to last Tuesday, closes out regular season play on Friday afternoon when the Chieftains travel to Rindge, N.H. to take on Franklin Pierce in a Northeast-10 dual-match that begins at 3:00 p.m., while Assumption hosts American International in a Northeast-10 outing on Thursday afternoon at the Plourde Center beginning at 3:30 p.m.
