April 17, 1982 - Freshman Mike Quaile teamed up with Bob Kirby to take the pro set 10-8, Stonehill Men's Tennis lone win of the day.  Quaile dropped his singles match in a 7-2 tie-breaker in a marathon two-plus hours match.

EASTON, Mass.-- Senior Karen McAuley (Raynham, Mass.), junior Jennifer Arcabascio (Salem, N.H.) and freshman Daniella Granato (Concord, Mass.) each posted wins in both singles and doubles play as second-seeded Stonehill advanced in the 2005 Northeast-10 Conference Women?s Tennis Championships with a 5-1 quarterfinal round triumph over seventh-seeded Assumption Wednesday afternoon on the Stonehill Courts.

The host Chieftains (12-1) advance to Saturday?s Northeast-10 semi-final round to take on sixth-seeded LeMoyne at Bryant University?s Tennis Complex in Smithfield, R.I. beginning at 3:30 p.m., as the Dolphins upended third-seeded Bentley by a 5-4 margin in quarterfinal round action in Waltham, Mass. Saturday?s other semi-final round contest will pit top-seeded Bryant against fourth-seeded Saint Michael?s at 1:00 p.m.

McAuley, Arcabascio and Granato each posted straight set singles wins for the host Chieftains in the first-to-five points post-season format, as McAuley and Arcabascio teamed up for an 8-2 win at number one doubles while Granato and junior Ashley Todd (Weymouth, Mass.) claimed an 8-5 triumph at the number two doubles spot for Stonehill.

Sophomores Jenna Hagert (Berlin, Conn.) and Shannon Steele (Plainville, Mass.) posted the lone point of the day for the visiting Greyhounds (6-8) with a 9-8 win at the number three doubles position, including a 7-3 triumph in the tie-breaker.

Stonehill took a 5-4 dual-match decision over LeMoyne back on March 26th in the previous meeting between the two teams this season in Syracuse, N.Y.
