December 2, 1994 - Stonehill Men's Basketball defeated Wheaton and UMass-Dartmouth at the Holiday Inn Classic.  Senior Chris Butler finished with 22 points and 12 boards on his way to being named Tournament Most Valuable Player.  Butler gave Stonehill the win over UMass-Dartmouth sinking a basket with 2.1 seconds remaining.

New Haven, Conn. - Stonehill scored just seconds into the match but spent the final 109:35 trying to duplicate that feat. When it didn't happen, they settled for a 1-1 tie with host Southern Connecticut on Saturday night.

Lauren Boyd (Sandwich, Mass.) and Ashley Bourne (Brockton, Mass.) teamed up to put the Skyhawks ahead before most people were in their seats. The goal by Boyd was her team-leading fifth of the season.

The 1-0 score remained until the 31st minute when Owl sophomore Danielle MacMurray took a thru ball from junior Gina DellaRose and fired it past Skyhawk netminder Alex Eckhardt (Mansfield, Mass.) to knot the match at 1-1.

The Owls had the best scoring opportunity in overtime, but Eckhardt stopped a DellaRose penalty kick in the first overtime to preserve the tie.

Katie Didio finished with seven saves for the Owls, and Eckhardt had two saves for Stonehill.

The Skyhawks, now 2-3-2 overall, return to action on Tuesday when they host St. Anselm at 4 p.m.
