Easton, Mass. - For the sixth time this season the women lose by just one goal.  The Skyhawks' record falls to 7-6-2 (7-3-2 NE-10) with the loss to Northeast-10 opponent, Merrimack College. Stonehill has now lost two straight after winning four in a row earlier this month.

Strong defenses for both teams held the score at zero.  Both Hilary Eckhardt (Marshfield, Mass.) and Kelly Regan (Mansfield, Mass.) did exceptionally well denying Merrimack's shots and chasing down loose balls.

The Warriors got on the board late in the first half.  Off a cross from the left, freshman Jesse DeGraan fed sophomore Gabrielle Gramprey for the games only goal.  The score came with 26 seconds remaining in the half.

Goalkeeper Alex Eckhardt (Marshfield, Mass.) had four saves in defeat.  Merrimack's goalie Shannon Rowan denied seven Skyhawk shots to earn the shut out victory.

The women will host UMass-Lowell in their last home game of the season at 2:30pm on Saturday.
