May 17, 1985 - Senior Joe Kelly was named Northeast-8 Conference Baseball Player of the Year. Kelly, an outfielder, hit .392 with seven homeruns and 20 RBIs.  He also scored 39 runs, stole 14 bases, walked 25 times and was errorless in the field in 49 chances.  Stonehill, which captured both regular season and conference tournament crowns, dominated the first team roster with four players selected.

MANCHESTER, N.H.-- Senior Jocelyn Savastano (Plymouth, Mass.) netted a goal and an assist to lead Saint Anselm to a 2-0 Northeast-10 Conference women's soccer victory over Stonehill Tuesday afternoon at Melucci Field.

After a scoreless first half of play, Savastano gave the host Hawks (7-4, 4-3 Northeast-10) the only goal they would need 8:57 into the second half when she converted a feed from senior Nicole Dunn (Plymouth, Mass.), and sophomore Michelle Nuzzo (Dedham, Mass.) added an insurance tally in the 70th minute of play when she took a pass from Savastano to close out the scoring.

Sophomore Micaela Smith (Andover, Mass.) picked up the shutout win in goal for Saint Anselm with three saves on the day, while sophomore Marissa Bramwell (Norton, Mass.) made five stops in net for the visiting Skyhawks (3-3-3, 2-3-3 Northeast-10) as the Hawks outshot Stonehill by a 17-6 margin.

Stonehill travels to Waltham, Mass. on Saturday afternoon to take on Bentley in a Northeast-10 outing that begins at 1:00 p.m., while Saint Anselm hosts Merrimack in a Northeast-10 match on Saturday morning at Melucci Field beginning at 11:00 a.m.
