Kelly Nominated For Northeast-10 Woman of the Year

Three-time IWLCA All-American Michelle Kelly has been named a nominee for the 2009 Northeast-10 Woman of the Year Award it was announced by the Conference office recently. The honoree, which is selected by the Senior Women Administrator Council (SWA), will automatically be put forward as the conference’s nominee for the NCAA Woman of the Year. The NCAA Woman of the Year award honors senior student-athletes for their collective collegiate achievements in service, leadership, athletics and academics. The NCAA Committee on Women’s Athletics (CWA) receive nominations from each conference in Division I, II and III. The members of the CWA will vote from the top nine to determine the 2009 NCAA Woman of the Year which will be announced in Indianapolis on October 18.

Craig, Kelly, Maloney Named IWLCA All-Americans

The honors keep rolling in for the women’s lacrosse team, as three players were named to the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association All-America squad as announced by the IWLCA on Tuesday afternoon. The trio will be honored during the IWLCA Awards Banquet in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania on June 13th. Senior Michelle Kelly (Mendham, N.J.) and junior Jackie Craig (Rocky Point, N.Y.) were named to the first team, while senior Mary Maloney (Great River, N.Y.) was named to the second team.

Four Skyhawks Named To IWCLA All-Region Team

Following the Skyhawks 10-6 campaign and NE-10 Co-Championship four Stonehill players were named to the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association North All-Region Team as announced by the IWLCA on Friday. Seniors Michelle Kelly (Mendham, N.J.) and Mary Maloney (Great River, N.Y.) and junior Jackie Craig (Rocky Point, N.Y.) were named to the first team while sophomore Devin O’Leary (Framingham, Mass.) was a member of the second team. Kelly, a three time NE-10 First-Team All-Conference Selection, led the team in both goals (56) and assists (34) in 2009.
