Mike Vitelli begins his second stint as an assistant coach for the Skyhawks, bringing over 15 years of women's high school and college coaching experience to the position.
Vitelli, a 1996 graduate of Stonehill College, spent 2002-2007 coaching the women's lacrosse team at King Phillip High School in Wrentham, Mass.
During Vitelli's tenure at King Phillip the Warriors dominated opponents. The team won five straight Hockomock League Championships including an unbeaten record of 73-0-1 during that time period.
In addition to an undefeated league record the Warriors also made two South Sectional Championship appearances in 2006 and 2007, winning the Sectional Championship in 2006. Vitelli was also named the Boston Globe Division I Coach of the Year in 2007.
From 2002-2004 Vitelli coached three straight Bay State Gold Medal teams, amassing a perfect 15-0 record in the process.
Prior to King Phillip he spent two seasons as an assistant with the Stonehill lacrosse program. While at Stonehill the team went 28-13, reaching the NCAA semifinals in 2001 and playing in the national championship in 2002.
Vitelli also spend time as the head women's lacrosse coach at Walpole High School from 1996-2001, before being hired by Stonehill prior to the 2001 season.
Vitelli is married to his wife Jennifer, a 1995 Stonehill
graduate, and they have two children, ages four and one and
currently reside in Attleboro, Mass.
