December 7, 1981 - Tom Dean handed out 14 assists as the Men's Basketball team beat New Hampshire, 91-81.  Later that week Dean contributed 12 assists in a 92-90 victory over New Haven.  Dean graduated in 1982 as the College's assist leader with 559 career helpers.

EASTON, Mass.-- Sophomore Michelle Kelly (Mendham, N.J.) netted four goals and junior Christa LaRocco (West Islip, N.Y.) added a pair of goals and three assists for five points as fourth-ranked Stonehill claimed its 61st straight Northeast-10 Conference women's lacrosse victory and posted the sixth shutout in school history with a 23-0 league triumph over Franklin Pierce Sunday afternoon at W.B. Mason Stadium.

The host Skyhawks (7-0, 3-0 Northeast-10), who improved to 74-1 all-time in conference play with the win, raced out to a 10-0 lead just 6:54 into the contest en route to a 17-0 advantage at the break, as Stonehill notched its first shutout since 2003 and its second all-time against the visiting Ravens (1-6, 0-3 Northeast-10). Senior Tracey Hoffman (Nashua, N.H.) and junior All-America Kristin Darrell (West Islip, N.Y.) each added a hat trick and an assist on the day for the hosts, who also received a pair of goals each from freshmen Liza Gross (Loudonville, N.Y.), Jackie Ladino (North Dartmouth, Mass.) and Christina Knepley (Wayne, Pa.).

Sophomore Mary Maloney (Great River, N.Y.) tied the school single-match record with six assists in the win for the Skyhawks, who also received a goal and three assists from sophomore Michelle Salmon (East Islip, N.Y.) as well as a marker and two helpers from sophomore Kristyn Gramzow (Billerica, Mass.). Senior Emily Wetmore (Horseheads, N.Y.), sophomore Rebecca Cottam (Belmont, Mass.) and freshman Jaclyn Craig (Rocky Point, N.Y.) also notched tallies for the winners.

Junior Amanda McGeachey (Saco, Maine) picked up the victory and her first collegiate shutout with a pair of saves in goal for Stonehill, while senior Erin Hopkins (Penn Yan, N.Y.) made 16 stops in net for Franklin Pierce as the Skyhawks outshot the Ravens by a 47-3 margin for the match.

Stonehill hosts Bentley in a Northeast-10 outing on Wednesday evening at W.B. Mason Stadium beginning at 7:00 p.m., while Franklin Pierce travels to Keene, N.H. on Tuesday afternoon for a non-league match with Keene State that begins at 4:00 p.m.
