Kelly Thompson begins her fifth season as head coach Trish Brown's top assistant. In each of the previous four seasons, Thompson has helped guide the Skyhawks to atleast 20 wins and four trips to the NCAA Tournament.
Since Thompson joined the program, the Skyhawks have gone 95-30 (.760) overall and 51-15 (.750) in Northeast-10 action.
Thompson, who came to the Skyhawks after two seasons as the head women's basketball coach at Russell Sage College, works with all aspects of the program, including recruiting, scouting and player development.
Prior to her time with the Gators, Thompson was an assistant at Maine Maritime Academy in Castine, Maine for one season, while participating in numerous basketball camps throughout New England.
A four-year letterwinner at Springfield College, Thompson ranks fourth on the Pride's all-time three-pointers made list (90). She also rank's 10th on the school's free throws made list, having connected on 162 shots from the charity stripe in her 81 career games.
A 2002 graduate with a degree in Sports Management and a minor in business, she served as team captain for two seasons as the Pride advanced to the NCAA Division III Championship in 2001 and 2002.
She is currently pursuing her master's degree in sports studies
at Northeastern University.
