May 1, 1988 - The 10-2 Men's Tennis team finished in a first place tie with Springfield College among Division II schools at the New England Intercollegiate Championship held at the University of Conn.  Naren Dhamodharan and Doug Mouch both had upset victories and advanced to the quarterfinals.  Dhamodharan and Dave Schreiner competed as double partners.  They lost in the quarterfinals to the eventual champions.

Skyhawks Fall To UMass-Lowell 3-1

The Skyhawks won their first set but lost the next three to fall to UMass-Lowell 3-1 and drop to 8-4 on the season

Stonehill started off strong, winning their first set 25-20. The momentum wouldn’t last however, as they lost the last three sets, 25-23, 25-19 and 30-28.

The Skyhawks were led by freshman Michelle Thornhill’s (Canyon Lake, Calif.) 13 kills and nine digs as Stonehill dropped to 8-4 on the season.

Senior Katherine Masson (Acushnet, MA) added 12 kills and five service aces while Andrea Wirth (Mesa, Ariz.) led Stonehill with 22 assists and Colleen Burt (Pensacola, Fla.) chipped in with 14.

The Skyhawks are next in action on Friday, September 19 when they take on St. Rose in Merkert Gymnasium at 7:00 pm.
