May 4, 2006 - Senior Kalyn Healey, who helped Stonehill Equestrian capture the IHSA Collegiate Cup National Championship as a freshman in 2003, finished third in the individual open fences at the 2006 IHSA National Championship.  Healey's finish at the National Championships matched the highest for Stonehill individual.

Stonehill Outlasts Colby Sawyer to Remain Perfect on the Season

Easton Mass. - Behind 16 kills and 14 digs from freshman Michelle Thornhill (Canyon Lake, Calif.) and 15 kills from senior Katherine Masson (Acushnet, Mass.) Stonehill outlasted Colby Sawyer 3-2, to improve to 4-0 on the season.

The Skyhawks fell behind early, losing the first set 25-22 but rebounded in the second set with a 27-25 win.  Colby Sawyer took advantage of Stonehill errors and won the third set 25-21 to go up 2-1.

The Skyhawks fought back to take the fourth set 25-14 and continued their momentum into the fifth set holding off Colby Sawyer for the 15-12 win.

Sophomore setter Andrea Wirth (Mesa, Ariz.) paced the Skyhawks with 48 assists and finished second on the team with nine digs.  Freshman Laura Huselton (Penfield, N.Y.) added ten kills while hitting at a .429 clip.

Stonehill returns to action on Saturday September 6, when they play host to Wheaton and Connecticut College, with games starting at 11 am and 3 pm respectively.
