April 19, 2007 - Senior Andy DeVita was a winner in both singles and doubles action as second-seeded Stonehill presented Head Coach Peter Miller with his 200th career victory in a 5-0 dual-match triumph over seventh-seeded Pace in quarterfinal round play of the 2007 Northeast-10 Conference Men's Tennis Championships.

 Heidi Woerner had three kills and four digs for Stonehill in the 3-0 loss to Bryant.

North Easton, Mass. - Behind reigning Northeast-10 Conference player of the week Likica Groeva, Bryant improved to 7-0 in Northeast-10 Conference play, knocking off host Stonehill, 3-0 at Merkert Gymnasium on Tuesday evening.

Stonehill was paced by Erin Johnson (Centerville, Mass.) and Katherine Masson (Acushnet, Mass.), who had 11 and 10 kills respectively.

The Bulldogs used an effective serves and a powerful attack game to send the Skyhawks to their fourth Conference loss.

In game one, a kill by freshman Laura Noonan (Hampstead, N.H.) trimmed the Bryant advantage to 22-14, but the Bulldogs ran off six straight points before taking a 30-16 decision.

Groeva, who had a match-high 13 kills, added seven digs and five service aces.

Game two was tied at 9-9, when Bryant used one of its patented runs to surge ahead 17-12. Back to back kills from Katherine Masson and Erin Johnson (Centerville, Mass.) got the Skyhawks within 17-15. Bryant held a 26-20 lead before Stonehill whittled it down to 28-27, but back-to-back kills from Bulldog freshman Adrienne Boss ended the game, 30-27.

Bryant built an early lead in game three, jumping out 12-4 and then 19-8 before the Skyhawks rallied, cutting the lead to 22-13. The Bulldogs pulled away, 30-15, hitting .333 for the game and the match overall.

Andrea Wirth (Mesa, Ariz.) had 27 assists for Stonehill, which falls to 6-13 overall and 3-4 in NE-10 action. The Skyhawks return to action on Friday when they travel to St. Rose for a 7 p.m. start.
