May 24, 2003 - Three players from the Stonehill's 2003 Division II NCAA Championship team received Warrior/Lacrosse All-America accolades.  Collette Carpenter, who finished with 31 goals and 29 assists, earned Midfielder of the Year.  Carissa Medeiros claimed Goaltender of the Year for finishing with 133 goals allowed (6.17 GAA).  After scoring nine goals in the NCAA Championship tournament, freshman Erin Acone took Rookie of the Year honors.


Springfield, Mass. - Behind 17 kills from junior Katherine Masson (Acushnet, Mass.), Stonehill picked up their second win of the season and the first Northeast-10 Conference victory of the year with a 3-1 win over host American International College.

After winning the first game with relative ease, 30-18, the second game was a hard fought back and forth affair that saw the Skyhawks take a 35-33 decision for a 2-0 lead. The Yellow Jackets responded, taking game three 30-28, before dropping the fourth game, 30-23.

Freshman Andrea Wirth (Mesa, Ariz.) had 40 assists for the victors, who improved to 2-9 on the season.

The Skyhawks return to action on Saturday when they host a tri-match with Assumption and St. Anselm's. The first match is scheduled for 11:00 a.m.
