LOWELL, Mass.-- Junior Erin Hudd (Melrose, Mass.) notched 15 kills, while freshman Elsa LeGrand (Highlands Ranch, Colo.) added 15 kills and 11 digs to lead UMass Lowell to a 3-1 Northeast-10 Conference volleyball victory over Stonehill by game scores of 30-19, 30-24, 24-30 and 30-27) in a league match played Tuesday evening at the Costello Athletic Center.
Junior Kristina Martell (Chelmsford, Mass.) added 13 kills and 13 digs in the triumph for the host River Hawks (14-15, 8-4 Northeast-10), who also received 52 set assists and 12 digs from senior Caitlin Harte (East Rochester, N.H.).
Sophomore Katherine Masson (Acushnet, Mass.) recorded 17 kills in the setback for the visiting Skyhawks (4-20, 2-9 Northeast-10), while fellow sophomore Heidi Woerner (North Kingstown, R.I.) chipped in with 11 kills. Freshman Kristen Hordern (Swansea, Mass.) collected 50 set assists on the night for the visitors.
Stonehill hosts Pace in a Northeast-10 outing on Friday evening at Merkert Gymnasium beginning at 7:00 p.m., while UMass Lowell heads to North Andover, Mass. on Saturday afternoon to take on Merrimack in a Northeast-10 match that begins at 1:00 p.m.
