WORCESTER, Mass.-- Senior Tess Wurm (New Bedford, Mass.) notched 18 kills and 22 digs to lead Assumption to a 3-1 Northeast-10 Conference volleyball victory over Stonehill by game scores of 30-20, 25-30, 35-33 and 30-25 in a league match played Wednesday evening at Laska Gymnasium.
Junior Lauren Raswyck (Litchfield, N.H.) added 27 digs for the host Greyhounds (11-10, 3-9 Northeast-10), who also received 20 set assists from freshman Sarah Sullivan (Bourne, Mass.).
Junior Rebekah Saunders (Gilford, N.H.) notched 13 kills and three digs in the setback for the visiting Skyhawks (4-18, 2-8 Northeast-10), who also received 11 kills and 10 solo blocks from sophomore Heidi Woerner (North Kingstown, R.I.). Sophomore Katherine Masson (Acushnet, Mass.) added 10 kills and five digs for Stonehill, which also received 39 set assists from freshman Kristen Hordern (Swansea, Mass.).
Stonehill heads to Waterbury, Conn. on Thursday evening to take on Post in a non-league match that begins at 7:00 p.m., while Assumption heads to Bridgeport, Conn. on Saturday afternoon for a non-league match with Bridgeport that begins at Noon.
