Gardynski, Gill Shine At Larry Ellis Invitational
Princeton, N.J. - Junior Jen Gardynski (Everett, Mass.) provisionally qualified for the NCAA Championship in the steeplechase with a time of 11:17.58, shattering the school record along the way as several members of the Stonehill Track & Field team participated in the Larry Ellis Invitational at Princeton University.
Just three weeks ago at the Skyhawk Invitational, Gardynski ran the steeplechase in 11:31.37.
Also showing well was freshman Kevin Gill (Brockton, Mass.) who ran the 1500 meters in 3:50.17, the top Division II finisher in the event. Teammate Dickie Gerry (Bow, N.H.), wrapped up the event in 3:53.08, good for 39th.
David Metzger (Ellington, Conn.) and Joe Ryan (Chelmsford, Mass.) finished 23rd and 31st respectively in the 5000.
Both teams are back in action next Sunday when they participate in the Brown Invitational.
