Dynamic Duo: Ippolito, Young Named All-Conference
5/6/08 Junior Courtney Young and senior Jaime Ippolito were named to the Northeast-10 All-Conference squad it was announced by the Conference office earlier this week. Young, who earned first-team recognition, appeared in 42 games, splitting time at designated player and catcher. She led the Skyhawks in batting (.367), slugging (.642), on-base percentage (.441), RBI (32), doubles (12), home runs (7), total bases (77) and walks (16). Her seven home runs tied her own school single-season record and her 17 career homers are tops in school history. Stonehill, which advanced to postseason play for the first time since the 1996 season finished their season with a 23-20 overall record. |

Enos, Bryant Shut Down Skyhawks
5/3/08 For the second time this season, Bryant hurler Janine Enos shut down a normally potent Stonehill offense, this time tossing a two-hit shutout to give the Bulldogs a 2-0 win and advance them to the second round of the Northeast-10 postseason tournament on Saturday morning. Enos, who baffled the Skyhawks back on April 9th in a 5-0 win when she allowed five hits and struck out eight, was just as effective on Saturday. She went seven innings, striking out four and didn’t allow a walk to earn her league-leading 17th win of the season. Stonehill’s season ends at 23-20, while Bryant improves to 27-12 and will face LeMoyne in the Northeast-10 championship series on Sunday. |

Pairings Set For Northeast-10 Softball Championship
5/2/08 Stonehill will open play in the postseason for the first time since 1996 when the Skyhawks face Bryant on Saturday in the opening round of the Northeast-10 Softball Championship it was announced after pairing were set by the Conference office on Thursday evening. No. 7 Stonehill will square off with No. 2 Bryant beginning at 9 a.m. in Syracuse N.Y. The winner of Stonehill-Bryant will face the winner of St. Anselm-Southern Connecticut, a pair of teams the Skyhawks split doubleheaders with this season. |
