Dorchester, Mass. - Behind senior David Metzger (Ellington, Conn.), Stonehill posted a sixth place finish in the 94th annual New England Cross Country Championships held at Franklin Park on Saturday afternoon.

The finish for the Skyhawks is the program's best since it collected a fourth place finish in 2003.

Individually, Metzger's fifth place finish is the best for a Stonehill runner ever, besting Mario Fraioli's seventh place finish in 2003. Metzger completed the five mile race in 25:10, ahead of Harvard's Chris Green and behind UMass-Lowell's Ruben Sanca.

Five slots behind Metzger was senior Joe Ryan (Chelmsford, Mass.) who crossed the line at 25:29.
