May 3, 1983 - First baseman Kurt Krohto hit .571 (12 for 21) to lead Stonehill to six wins in seven games.  Krohto was named to the Northeast-8 Conference Weekly Honor Roll for his outstanding week, which included three doubles, two homers and 14 RBIs.

The Stonehill College Men's Tennis team (10-3, 4-0 Northeast-10 Conference) took every match on their way to a 9-0 sweep of East Stroudsburg at the Bloomsburg Duels. 

The win marked freshman Tim Fayed's (Glastonbury, Conn./Glastonbury) first collegiate victory at first singles, 6-1, 6-0 over East Stroudsburg's Kyle Doebler.  Fayed later teamed with Mike Leone (Cataumet, Mass./Bourne) to win second doubles, 8-2.  Leone, a sophomore, earned a W as well at fourth singles, 6-3, 6-1 over Will Norris.

Jon Burke (Wakefield, R.I./South Kingstown), William Herchel (Hampden, Mass./Minnechaug) and Jason Allegretti (Lincoln, R.I./Lincoln) each won in straight sets for the Skyhawks.  Senior John McGaffigan (Dedham, Mass./Dedham) was victorious as well, at fifth singles, 7-6, 4-6, 10-4 over Julia Taibi.

Burke, a freshman, teamed with senior captain Mike Allen (Norwell, Mass./Norwell) to earn a win at third doubles over Norris and Ryan Baxter, 8-5.
