May 26, 2003 - Sophomore Colby Confer was named the Northeast-10 Conference Player of the Week after she net five goals during the Northeast-10 Championships, including a career-high four markers in the Championship round victory over Bryant.  Stonehill claimed their fourth straight Conference Championship with the win.


Skyhawks Stumble to Start Spring

Hilton Head, S.C. - After a strong showing last fall, the Stonehill College Men's Tennis team (3-1, 1-0 Northeast-10 Conference) dropped their first contest of the spring against Catawba College, 5-4.

Freshman Tim Fayed improved to 4-0 in defeat for the Skyhawks.  The rookie took his second singles match up 6-1, 6-1.  Jason Allegretti (Lincoln, R.I./Lincoln) defeated Cyle Peterson 6-4, 6-3 on his way to a 4-0 start, as well.

Michael Allen (Norwell, Mass./Norwell) and Jon Burke (Wakefield, R.I./South Kingstown) defeated Kyle Thortsen and Kody Redfern, 8-4.  The win improved the duo's personal record to 4-0.

The Skyhawks will return to action tomorrow against Palm Beach Atlantic.
