Easton, Mass. - John McGaffigan
(Dedham, Mass./Dedham) earned a win at sixth singles and third doubles as the Skyhawks fell 6-3 to Bryant University (15-3, 9-0 Northeast-10 Conference) on Saturday afternoon.  The Skyhawks had won two straight heading into their show down with the Bryant Bulldogs, who are ranked third regionally and 45th nationally.  The loss drops Stonehill College to 12-5 overall, 4-1 in the Northeast-10 Conference - second in the standings behind Bryant.

McGaffigan, a senior, improved his personal Conference record to 4-0 with a 7-5, 3-6, 6-4 win over Bryant's Craig Drushella.  The win, his second straight, improves his personal record to 6-5, 4-3 at the sixth spot.

McGaffigan teamed with Mike Leone (Cataumet, Mass./Bourne) to score an 8-5 win at third singles.  Leone did well in singles competition as well, taking Stonehill's third match 7-5, 2-6, 7-5 over Kevin Gardiner.

Five of Stonehill's six singles match ups took three sets to complete, including freshman Tim Fayed's (Glastonbury, Conn./Glastonbury) second singles match against No. 12 ranked Jose Rodriguez.  Rodriguez, a junior, narrowly escaped with the victory over Stonehill's stand-out freshman, 6-2, 3-6, 6-3.

The men complete their week with a Sunday match against Saint Anselm.  The match is scheduled for 12:00 p.m on the Stonehill Courts.
