May 6, 2000 - Fred C. Petti became the first softball head coach inducted into the Stonehill College Hall of Fame.  Petti compiled an overall record of 131-61-1 during his tenure. He also served as the Vice President for Administration.


Skyhawks Starting Six Earn Singles All-Conference Honors 

South Easton, Mass. - Six members of the Stonehill College Men's Tennis Team (18-6, 9-1 Northeast-10 Conference) were named to the 2008 Northeast-10 Conference All-Conference Team released Sunday.  Three Skyhawks earned First Team honors, including junior Jason Allegretti (Lincoln, R.I./Lincoln), who claimed both First Team No. 4 singles and Third Team No. 2 Doubles accolades.

Allegretti finished his junior season with a 16-5 mark, 8-1 against Northeast-10 opponents during the regular season.  His doubles partner, William Herchel (Hampden, Mass./Minnechaug) earned Second Team No. 4 Singles All-Conference after registering a 16-6 overall record, 9-1 in the NE-10.  The duo landed a spot on the Northeast-10 Conference Third Team No. 2 Doubles list as well.  They finished 12-5 overall, 5-1 in the NE-10. 

Sophomore Mike Leone (Cataumet, Mass./Bourne) and senior John McGaffigan (Dedham, Mass./Dedham) joined Allegretti on the Conference's First Team Singles.  Leone, who finished the year 10-1, 5-0 in the NE-10 earned No. 5 Singles recognition, while McGaffigan's 9-5, 7-0 mark resulted in his No. 6 Singles honors. 

Sophomore Michael Mashkevich (Framingham, Mass./Framingham) and freshman stand out Tim Fayed (Glastonbury, Conn./Glastonbury) received First Team No. 1 Doubles honors.  The pair finished 10-6, 5-2 against Northeast-10 opponents.  Mashkevich and Fayed each earned Third Team Singles honors, at No.1 Singles and No.2 Singles, respectfully.
