EASTON, Mass.-- The Stonehill men's tennis team wrapped up its regular season schedule on Wednesday afternoon by posting a 5-0 Northeast-10 Conference dual-match triumph over Saint Anselm at the Ames Sports Complex.
Senior Matt Grabala (Bristol, Conn.) and freshman Mike Mashkevich (Framingham, Mass.) each posted straight set singles wins on the day for the host Skyhawks (14-4, 10-1 Northeast-10), while sophomores Jason Allegretti (Lincoln, R.I.) and Will Herchel (Hampden, Mass.) combined for an 8-1 triumph at number one doubles. Senior Andy DeVita (Milford, Mass.) and freshman Mike Leone (Cataumet, Mass.) were 8-2 victors at the number two doubles spot for Stonehill, which also received an 8-0 win from senior Al Santosuosso (Reading, Mass.) and junior Michael Allen (Norwell, Mass.) at number three doubles to close out the scoring.
The visiting Hawks end their season at 1-10 both overall and in Northeast-10 play.
Stonehill will be seeded second in the 2007 Northeast-10 Conference Championships and will host seventh-seeded Pace in a quarterfinal round match on Thursday afternoon at the Ames Sports Complex beginning at 3:30 p.m.
