SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (October 19, 2013) – The Stonehill College men's soccer team allowed an early second half goal, but responded with one of its own in an eventual 1-1 draw with American International College today in Northeast-10 action at Ronald J. Abdow Field.

After a scoreless first half, American International opened the scoring in the 50th minute, when freshman midfielder Gregory Smedberg (Plantsville, Conn./Southington) found the back of the net following a cross field pass from sophomore midfielder Kyle Kazukynas (Enfield, Conn./Enrico Fermi) to give the Yellow Jackets a 1-0 lead.

Stonehill answered in the 62nd minute, when senior captain Tim Canniff (Billerica, Mass./Billerica) deflected a throw-in from sophomore forward Drew Montano (Avon, Conn./Avon) past American International senior goalkeeper Jason Ryan (Peabody, Mass./Peabody Veteran Memorial) to knot the score up at one.
